Ghana Police has arrested one person in connection with murder of Dr Christopher Adu Boahen
One individual has been detained by the police in relation to the death of Dr. Christopher Adu Boahen, who was the son of Prof. Albert Adu Boahen, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The arrest was made in response to a complaint that the deceased’s family filed on March 17, according to the police.
The culprit, identified as Mark Forson, was apprehended after a short while by a specialized squad made up of police detectives and crime scene specialists, according to a statement released by the police.
“Suspect Mark Forson has been detained by the Ghana Police Service today, March 19, 2024, in relation to the Accra murder of Dr. Christopher Adu Boahen. Some of the deceased’s family filed a complaint with the police on March 17 alleging that the man was discovered dead in his room under suspicious circumstances.
“A squad of crime scene investigators and police investigators arrived at the location right away to start an inquiry that would ultimately result in the suspect’s arrest. As the investigation proceeds, the suspect is being held and will appear in court, according to the statement.

Dr. Christopher Adu Boahen was murdered after being robbed at home East Legon, an Accra neighborhood.
The accounts state that the armed thieves forced their way into his house, ransacked it thoroughly, and killed him there.
Christopher studied electrical engineering at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and the story referenced a Facebook post made by the school’s 1995 class.

“May the Lord grant our brother’s soul rest. “Sad news for a Monday morning, but let’s stay positive and anticipate an amazing week,” the post announcing Christopher Adu Boahen’s passing said.
The family of Christopher Adu Boahen is well-known in politics. When Ghana reestablished democracy in 1992 under the Fourth Republic, his father ran as the NPP’s initial presidential candidate.
He was also the brother of Charles Adu Boahen, who served in the Akufo-Addo government as the Ministry of Finance’s minister of state and deputy minister of finance.
November 2022 saw Charles Adu Boahen’s resignation from government service.
